Summer events in Cannon Beach and Seaside, Oregon
Summer is here! The sun is out, school is out, and you may be showing signs of wanderlust (a strong desire to travel). It’s time to create your summer bucket list, and of course ‘The Oregon Coast’ needs to be on there. Several events in Seaside and Cannon Beach, Oregon should be on your list as well. Summer Highlights in Seaside and Cannon Beach
June 14th and 15th, 2019, Muscle and Chrome Car Show: Come walk downtown while seeing quality vehicles 1974 and older plus 1979 to current factory performance vehicles. The Saturday showcase begins at 9am in the heart of downtown Seaside which includes a downtown parade.
Fourth of July in Seaside: Come early and find a parking spot on the east side of the Necanicum River. Head over to the free 4th of July Old Fashioned Social hosted by the Seaside Historical Society & Museum. This event runs from 11 am-3 pm with games, music, food, face painting, a cake walk, and more. Enjoy the fireworks show set to music from 10-10:30 pm over the beach.
Fourth of July in Cannon Beach: Come in the morning to watch a fun, small-town parade beginning at 11am honoring the town’s veterans. The route winds north up Spruce and back south down Hemlock. At 1pm, head over to the fire department for hot dogs, tours, kids activities and a chance to spray the fire hose. Fireworks are not allowed in Cannon Beach because of Haystack Rock, which is a National Wildlife Refuge.
August 8th- 11th, The 38th annual Beach Volleyball Tournament: Over 1000 teams will be competing this year in the World’s Largest Amateur Beach Volleyball tournament.
August 24th, The Hood to Coast Relay: is almost 200 miles long, stretching from Mt. Hood to the Oregon coast. The 1,050 teams of 12 runners, 3600 volunteers, and all the teams’ supporters come to the Hood to Coast Relay Finish Line at the beach in Seaside to celebrate the big finish with food, a beer garden, music, awards and more.
